Construction Commenced – Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park

The $500 million, 317MW hybrid wind and solar PV project at Port Augusta has commenced construction. The ground was broken by the South Australian Premier, the Honourable Steven Marshall; the South Australian Minister for Energy and local member, the Honourable Dan van Holst Pellekaan; the Mayor of Port Augusta City Council, Brett Benbow; the Mayor of the District Council of Mount Remarkable, Phillip Heaslip; and the Director and Country Manager of DP Energy Australia, Catherine Way.

A significant milestone for both DP Energy Australia and Iberdrola Australia (the new owners) as the Port Augusta Renewable Energy Park is the first project entering construction in Australia for both parties.

DP Energy is still involved in the Port Augusta project in a supporting role, but is primarily focused on their pipeline of projects in Australia.
