Landowner Involvement

No Risk

The most popular option for landowners is a no risk approach whereby the works are carried out and the project is completed by and at the expense of the developer. DP Energy organises financing for the project and takes care of the entire development process from gaining planning consent through to construction, operation and decommissioning.

The landowner need have minimal involvement in project development, which can be a costly and time consuming process and there is no financial risk in the event of failure on planning or any difficulties arising from obtaining an economic grid connection.

With this option the landowner receives a construction bonus (notionally a disturbance payment) made at the start of works along with a regular revenue received through an annual lease payment which varies depending on generation capacity and the site wind speed. once built. Once we have assessed the site and decided that it is suitable for development, a lease signing bonus fee will be paid to the land owner.

Financial Stake

DP Energy understands that landowners may wish to have a higher level of involvement and we are flexible in our approach to development. If, for example, the landowner wished to have a greater financial stake in the project, they would receive a greater financial benefit to reflect the level of increased risk. We are happy to tailor specific agreements with the landowner depending on the level of involvement.

Electricity Bills

In either Option the landowner may also benefit from reduced electricity bills where the wind turbine and property have common connection points.
