Booltiagh 2 Wind Farm
County Clare

The North and Eastern Extension (Booltiagh 2) consists of a six turbine addition to the built Booltiagh wind farm. The development consists of a further turbine row (comprising a three machines) to the east, and a three turbine group to the north. This will increase the overall installed capacity by 12.0 MW giving a total of 31.5MW.

The locations of the six turbine sites have been chosen so that all machines lie within areas which are already under commercial forestry. The turbines will use the main Booltiagh wind farm infrastructure – site entrance, turbine access roads, and will connect to the existing on site substation and ESB National Grid interconnection point

Booltiagh 2 was awarded planning permission in October 2008, and has a Gate 2 Grid Connection offer.
