Company Goals
It is a goal of DP Energy that its developments are both sustainable and conducted in a manner which is environmentally benign with the least possible impact on other species.
Sustainability has been defined as development which meets present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Company Structure
The various DP Energy companies are linked in a group structure under DP Group Ltd

Overview of Companies:
DP Energy Ireland Ltd (DPE) was formed with the specific objective of promoting the development and use of energy from renewable and sustainable resources. It’s primary focus had been the development, construction and operation of wind energy projects in Ireland and the UK although this has now changed and DPE is expanding its operations into new geographic areas and into new technologies including Marine and Solar Energy and Energy Storage.
DP Marine Energy Ltd (DPME) was formed specifically to assess both tidal and wave resource and develop marine energy sites in UK and Irish Waters.
DPE and DPME still act as the primary development companies within the group supporting a number of country specific development companies.
Both DPE and DPME are private limited companies registered in Ireland with company offices in County Cork Ireland.
DP Energy Australia Pty Ltd (DPEA)
DP Energy Canada Ltd (DPEC)
DP New Ventures (DPNV)
Operations:
For projects in Ireland DPE has acted as an independent developer and develops, constructs and operates wind farms for project specific special purpose companies set up by its Directors.
In Scotland, England and Wales DPE has for a number of years been site finding, and obtaining wind energy planning consents for Scottish and Southern Energy Generation Ltd (a generation arm of Scottish and Southern Energy PLC) assisting them to meet their renewable energy obligation targets. Outside of this development agreement DPE also acts independently to develop its own projects within the UK.
DPEA has an office in Queensland and supported by DPE develops both wind and solar energy projects within Australia.
DPEC principle focus is the development of a number of wind energy projects in Ontario in conjunction with Vortex Wind a Canadian wind energy developer
DPNV is a Irish based business which supported by DPE acts as a prospecting and development vehicle for new opportunities within South America.
Overview of Projects:
Wind and Solar
DPE has developed over 180 MW of built wind energy projects comprising seven projects and 114 turbines, and has developed a further 38MW with planning consents and grid connection offers either in build or ready to build.
In addition DPE is progressing a further 100MW of wind projects in Scotland which are currently in planning, 40MW in Ireland with grid connection offers and a further 200MW at various stages of consent.
Through DPEA, DPEC, and DPNV DPE is developing a pipeline of over 500MW of wind and solar energy sites spread across Australia, Canada and South America.
Marine
DPE is evaluating a number of sites in Scotland and Ireland for the development of utility scale marine energy projects. DPME’s lead project lies approximately 6km off Islay of the South West Coast of Scotland. This Islay Tidal Energy project is a 400MW tidal stream project, based on the use of multiple tidal turbines and is currently at a formal scoping stage, prior to submission of an Environmental Impact Assessment
