Energy Ireland Ltd (DPE)
was formed with the specific objective of promoting the development
and use of energy from renewable and sustainable resources particularly
wind and biomass.
Sustainability has been defined as development which meets present
needs without compromising the ability of future generations to
meet their own needs.
DPE is a small private limited company wholly owned by Maureen
De Pietro (MDP) and Simon De Pietro (SDP) both of whom
are active directors of the company.
DPE is a wind farm development company, which operates predominantly
in Ireland and the UK. The directors have been actively involved
in developing wind projects for a period of over 10 years with successes
in both planning permissions and obtaining power contracts through
the Non Fossil Fuel Obligation (Northern Ireland, and England &
Wales), and Alternative Energy Requirement. (These are 15 year Power
Purchase Agreements awarded based on cost/kWh and technical capability).
For projects in Ireland DPE acts as an independent developer
and develops and builds wind farms for project specific special
purpose companies set up by its Directors. In Scotland, England
and Wales DPE has a development agreement with Scottish and
Southern Energy Generation Ltd (a generation arm of Scottish and
Southern Energy PLC) but also acts independently outside this agreement
to develop its own projects.
DPE is currently progressing a further 80MW of projects in
Ireland (North and South), and around 300MW in the UK.
